Enjoy your delicious breakfast while getting ready for a morning game drive safari on your way to Murchison Falls National Park. You will enjoy high chances of encountering giant African elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, lions, and kobs among many other wildlife species.

Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s second most visited safari destination for wildlife safaris and the largest protected area in the country, so there’s a variety of species to encounter.

In addition to your previous day’s memories, prepare to hike to the top of Murchison Falls – one of the most famous activities that everyone would love to encounter while in Murchison Falls National Park. The hike, doubling as a nature walk, is one of the most energetic and challenging activity but very enjoyable in the long run, with a ranger who will guide you through the entire hike from the bottom to the top.

To hike to the top of the Falls, you will take a short drive from your lodge to Baker’s Point – the starting point. Here is where Sir Samuel Baker, the famous British explorer stood on a huge rock (which you will also stand on), to declare the name of the falls in 1864 as Murchison Falls, a name they are famously known for until today.

As you hike up, you are cooled and refreshed on the hike by the misty spray from the Nile, pouring down over the 43-meter-long cleft, through what is called the “Devil’s Cauldron”. This is apparently not the hardest hike that you can take while in Uganda, but it is one of the most exciting.

You’ll then return to the lodge for lunch and afternoon relaxation, as you prepare for an evening community tour.

During this community tour you will enjoy a real African experience of the living conditions of the residents. You’ll also be able to interact with the local community and get to learn more about their ways of life, a visit to a nearby women’s group that weave different attractive handicrafts and souvenirs.

You’ll then return to the lodge for dinner, evening relaxation and overnight stay.
